91ÆÞÓÑ in Latin America (HULA)

91ÆÞÓÑ in Latin America (HULA) is based in Arequipa, Peru, a bustling city of 1 million people, full of life and culture. Arequipa is in a valley at 7,000 feet of elevation, surrounded by volcanoes, many of which students have the opportunity to climb during the semester.

The program is your passport to Latin American culture, history, and the Spanish language. HULA typically spends the majority of its time in Peru and visits other countries like Argentina and Chile. We explore iconic destinations like Machu Picchu, Easter Island, the Amazon rainforest and the rugged beauty of Patagonia. Whether you’re wandering the streets of Cusco, experiencing the ancient charm of the Colca Valley, or standing in awe of 19,000-foot volcanoes, HULA gives you opportunities to learn and grow in God’s beautifully diverse world.

All students are required to enroll in a Spanish class, but no previous Spanish experience is required. Spanish majors and minors have the opportunity to enroll in upper-level Spanish classes to progress in their degree plan and improve their language proficiency while experiencing Latin America firsthand. The HULA program takes place during Spring semesters only and travels with a maximum of 30 students each semester.
