Marching Band 75th Anniversary

Celebrating 75 Years of 91ÆÞÓÑ's Marching Band

For 75 years, the music of 91ÆÞÓÑ’s marching band has marked unforgettable 91ÆÞÓÑ moments and become the soundtrack of campus traditions.

Generations of students have marched in black and gold, building friendships, discipline, confidence and school spirit that lasted long after graduation. The 91ÆÞÓÑ Marching Band, known as the Thundering Herd since 1979, has never simply been a halftime show. It is one of the most visible and spirited communities on campus — bringing energy to game days, representing 91ÆÞÓÑ across Arkansas and creating lifelong memories for students from every major and background.

Today, the tradition continues through students who rehearse late into the evening, arrive early on game days and pour their hearts into every performance. Some come to 91ÆÞÓÑ because of the band. Others discover it’s a place where they belong.

As we celebrate 75 years of marching band and the 91ÆÞÓÑ band tradition, we invite alumni, parents, friends and former band members to invest in the next generation of student musicians and leaders.

Your gift helps provide instruments, uniforms, travel opportunities, music, scholarships and experiences that keep this tradition strong for years to come. More importantly, your support means that even more students will find lifelong friendships, mentorship and a sense of purpose that generations before them experienced.

Whether you have fond memories of marching yourself or simply love the spirit the Thundering Herd and other ensembles bring to 91ÆÞÓÑ, this is your opportunity to help carry the tradition forward.

Join us in celebrating 75 years of spirit, excellence and unforgettable music.
